How do you choose the right inflatable water park?

An inflatable water park is a brilliant investment for the summer, but which model is right for you? When making your choice, bear the following practical considerations in mind:

• The space available in your garden: Don’t just look at the dimensions of the inflatable water park; make sure to allow for at least 1.5 to 2 metres of free space on all sides. This will allow children to run around safely, jump into the pool and slide down the slide.
• Age and weight limits: Every water park has a recommended age, a maximum weight per child and a limit on the total number of children allowed to play there at any one time. For toddlers, a shallow paddling pool with a small slide is ideal, whilst older children seek more of a challenge on climbing walls and tall slides.
• Materials and durability: Choose models made from durable, PVC-coated polyester with double-stitched seams. These materials can withstand rough handling and are less likely to tear, even when several children are climbing on the slide at the same time.
• Accessories included: Check that the water park comes complete with a continuous-run air blower (pump), pegs to secure the play structure, a carry bag for winter storage and a repair kit.

1. How long does it take to set up an inflatable water park?
   Thanks to the powerful electric blower supplied with most water parks, the entire unit is often fully set up within 3 to 5 minutes. Filling the water section with a garden hose then takes a little extra time, depending on its size. 
2. Does the air pump (blower) need to be left on all the time?
   Yes. With large inflatable play and water parks, a small amount of air escapes continuously through the secure seams. The blower must therefore remain switched on whilst the children are playing, to keep the park firm and safe. 
3. From what age and up to what age is an inflatable water park suitable?
   This varies depending on the model. There are compact water parks designed specifically for toddlers and pre-schoolers (from around 3 years old), and larger, more robust models with climbing walls that are suitable for children up to around 10 years old. Always check the product specifications for the maximum weight. 
4. How do I safely maintain and store an inflatable water park?
   The most important thing is to ensure the water park is completely dry before you fold it up and store it in the carry bag. Once you’ve drained the water, leave the blower running for a while longer so that the material can dry thoroughly. This prevents mould and unpleasant odours during the winter. 
5. What should I do if there’s a hole in the fabric?
   You can easily repair small holes yourself using the repair patches provided or a small amount of strong PVC glue and a piece of fabric. As the pump continuously inflates the pool, a small hole won’t spoil the fun straight away.
