Controlling moles

Molehills can brightly disturb the look of your garden. Fortunately, there are several ways to chase moles out of your garden. For example, there are ultrasonic repellents, as well as mole traps or clamps available.

All remedies against moles

Using sound

Moles - as you more than likely know - live underground. It is dark there, so they do not need good eyesight. However, they do have good ears. If you want to chase away moles, it is advisable to irritate them using vibrations and sound signals. An ultrasonic repellent emits vibrations and sound to the ground, which moles' tiny ears cannot handle. Soon the mole will seek other places.

When installing a mole repellent, do note the following tips:

  • Place the mole repellent between the house and exit of the garden
  • So never block the exit, but chase the mole away
  • Move the mole repellent if necessary
  • Give the mole time to move away from the persistent sound
  • Shading determines the depth for the mole repellent

Using a mole clamp

The mole clamp is also still a popular method of trapping moles. Installing one or more mole clamps is a very effective way to get rid of a mole infestation. The mole clamp is placed in the corridor used to search for food. So it takes some trial and error to decide which corridor is best. Mole clamps are tensioned with a spring and when a pawl is touched they snap shut.

Using fragrance

In addition to excellent hearing, moles also have a very sharp sense of smell. There are certain plants that moles dislike, such as foul-smelling hellebore, daffodils, spurge or wild garlic, which is why our range includes mole scent bags. These smell of strong-smelling plants that moles do not like. Such scent bags are completely harmless to pets.

Controlling slugs

Snails can also be a real pest in your (vegetable) garden. The slime trail they leave behind is probably the least of your worries. The damage they do to your crops is a much bigger problem. Within as little as one night, they can wreak havoc.

All remedies for snails

There are 3 ways to catch or chase slugs from your (vegetable) garden, namely using slug pellets, slug traps or a physical barrier.

  • Slug pellets: Most of the products in this category are slug pellets. Slugs find slug pellets really irresistible, but unfortunately for them, they are anything but healthy for snails. The snails eat from the pellets, after which the active ingredient in the pellets causes the snails to lose their appetite in general. They retreat and eventually die.
  • Snail traps: Snail traps are also usually used with bait. Snails are caught in a trap and cannot escape. You can then put them out far away from your garden.
  • Physical barrier: With flower pots, for example, a physical barrier works very well. This is a piece of copper wire that you tie around the flower pot. Slugs don't like copper.

Fighting ants

Ants are definitely unwelcome guests in the garden or home. However, ants do have a use. Namely, they eat other harmful insects and their larvae. But unfortunately, they can also cause damage to your garden. And then you would rather not have them in your garden. That is why we offer ant powders, ant sprays and ant bait.

  • Ant bait box: An ant bait box is a very effective way to control ants. These bait boxes contain an attractive bait that makes ants enter the box. They take this poisonous bait to the nest, exposing the entire colony to this poison in no time. It is important to place bait boxes in strategic places, such as along ant paths or near nests.
  • Ant powderAnt powder works slightly differently. The ants or other crawling insects do not eat the ant powder, but their bodies are covered with it. This causes them to dry out and eventually die.
