At Hermie, you will find a wide range of seeds that are perfect for both beginners and experienced vegetable gardeners. Our carefully selected range guarantees optimal germination, durability and a bountiful harvest. Vegetables, fruit and herbs from your own vegetable garden are, of course, extremely tasty, but it is also just fun to be involved. Growing crops is an educational process for children. While playing, they learn about different types of fruit and vegetables as well as the growing process.

Fruit and vegetable seeds 🥒🥕🍅🍉🍈

Using fruit and vegetable seeds, you can easily grow your own snack and delicious greens for meals. Pumpkin, peppers, courgettes, leeks, tomatoes, cabbage, carrots, melons, strawberries... Simply grow what you like yourself! By growing your own fruit and vegetables from seeds, you take a big step towards a sustainable lifestyle. You might even discover new varieties and find out which fruit belongs to which season.

If you grow fruits and vegetables yourself from seeds, you will soon notice some differences at harvest compared to the fruits and vegetables you buy from the shop. The taste of your home-grown is a lot more pure and the shape of your fruit and vegetables is more irregular. Your fruits are smaller, bigger, more irregular... That's what adds to the charm of growing your own fruit and vegetables from seeds.

What are green manures?

Green manure crops are plants used specifically to improve and protect the soil. They are often sown during intervals in the cropping cycle when the land would otherwise lie fallow. Through their growth, they contribute to:

  • Improving soil structure: The roots of green manures help loosen up the soil, promoting water infiltration and aeration.
  • Increasing organic matter: When green manures are ploughed in, they add valuable organic matter to the soil, increasing fertility
  • Fixation of nitrogen: Some green manure crops, such as clover, have the ability to take nitrogen from the air and enrich it in the soil
  • Weed suppression and erosion control: A dense vegetation can inhibit weed growth and reduce erosion caused by wind and rain.
  • Aesthetic appearance: A green manure crop is also just prettier than a fallow field. Bare is just bare otherwise.

In short, green manures are a natural and sustainable way to promote soil health and fertility, which is essential for a successful and sustainable agriculture or garden.
