What are the benefits of a saltwater system?
The filter pump is the engine behind your pool. It keeps the water clean & clear, allowing you to splash around. A salt water system is also a great addition to keep your pool water clean, without the use of chemical chlorine, and that's what we're diving deeper into today! Working on the basis of salt electrolysis, this filtration system converts pool salt into natural chlorine to kill algae and bacteria. So you can enjoy a clean and disinfected pool, without the use of chemical chlorine. This is the solution for those pesky red & itchy eyes and your sensitive skin!
A saltwater system also saves you a lot of extra maintenance and pool care products. Extra time to enjoy swimming laps and better for your wallet. It also makes the precious water last longer. And no, the pool water doesn't taste like the salty sea! 😉
How does such a saltwater system work?
Fill the pump with pool salt and run the system. Thanks to electrolysis, the pool salt is converted into natural chlorine. During this process, powerful oxidants are released that kill the algae, fungi & bacteria present in the water. So you enjoy hygienic water. You only need to fill the system with pool salt once, as the salt is reused over and over again, which is handy and especially economical!
Attention: only use special pool salt, other salt is not suitable for a saltwater system!

While we are fans of the natural disinfection these saltwater systems offer, there is one drawback: the salt can sometimes cause some rust on the aluminium and iron parts of your pool. For us, however, this outweighs all the benefits of salt electrolysis. So get rid of it all 😉Just a few more facts at a glance!
