Operation:

1. Determine the size of the area to be treated and measure out how many pellets or seeds you need.
2. Before filling the hopper, make sure the shut-off plate is closed.
3. Break up any clumps of fertilizer while filling the hopper.
4. Make sure the drive pin is in the shaft before starting the spreader.
5. Start by moving forward in short steps before opening the shut-off plate.
6. Always close the shut-off plate before starting or stopping the spreader.
7. If too much fertilizer is accidentally spread over a small area, thoroughly wet the area with a garden hose to prevent the lawn from getting scorched.
8. To ensure even coverage, spread fertilizer in such a way that each pass slightly overlaps the pattern of the previous pass.
9. When applying herbicides, be sure to stay far enough away from evergreen trees, flowers, or shrubs.
10. In very humid conditions, pull the rain cover over the reservoir to keep the contents dry and prevent clumping.

Maintenance:

It is important to thoroughly clean the spreader after use. This prevents contamination during the next use. You can easily rinse the fertilizer spreader with a garden hose and then let it dry.

How do you determine the correct flow rate?

The packaging of the material specifies how many grams or kilograms are needed for a given area. To determine the correct flow setting, you can first conduct a test on a hard surface. This way, you can sweep up the material after the test and reuse it.

1. Mark off an area of 2 square meters.
2. Fill the spreader with the recommended amount for 2 square meters.
3. Walk at a consistent speed (± 7 km/h).
4. Has all the material been spread, and are the entire 2 square meters covered? If so, you can use this flow setting to complete the job.
5. Do you have any granules or seeds left over, or are you running short? If so, repeat the test after adjusting the flow control.
