Esschert Design Hedgehog House

Starting in autumn, hedgehogs like to seek out the messy corners of our garden. Do they feel good in your garden? Then they will also hibernate there and start a nest. Give them a head start already by placing a hedgehog house in the garden in a quiet spot. This will allow them to stay there safely. Made of FSC-certified pine wood, this hedgehog house offers protection from only weather conditions and other animals. It has a retractable access tunnel that allows the hedgehog to get in and out easily but not other animals. Place the house in a quiet (and sheltered) spot in the garden. It is recommended to sprinkle some leaves over it to give it a natural look. This way, the hedgehog can hibernate there with peace of mind. You can also put separately adapted hedgehog food on a dish so they get the necessary vitamins and nutrients to grow a warm layer of fat for their winter hibernation.

Tip from Marcel:
The house has no bottom but you can easily put a wooden board (easy to clean) or some hay/straw under it yourself so that the hedgehog lies nice and warm! The hedgehog house can also be placed on tiles, but even then we recommend putting a layer of leaves or straw in it.
