Product information "Buzzy Seeds - Flower Seeds - Native Flowers: Native Poppy 'Papaver rhoeas'"
The common poppy is a beautiful flower that grows naturally in nutrient-poor soil and thrives in sunny locations. You often see poppies along roadsides, but they also thrive in fields and on vacant lots. The striking red flowers attract many bees, making them an important contributor to biodiversity. Reaching a height of about 35 cm, the poppy is a graceful addition to any garden.
Poppy seeds can be sown directly in a sunny spot, preferably between April and June. The poppy’s blooming period extends from June through September. Although the poppy is an annual, it self-seeds easily, allowing you to enjoy these beautiful flowers year after year. Poppies are indispensable to the flora and fauna in our environment and provide a valuable food source for bees and other insects.
