Product information "Professional fertilizer spreader Hermie 23 liters - including screen and rain cover"

  • Capacity: 23 liters
  • Weight: 12.3 kg
  • Including rain cover and screen

Use this professional fertilizer spreader to easily and evenly apply nutrients to your lawn. This model is a centrifugal spreader that homogeneously distributes the substances round-by-round and is ideal for lawns up to 1,000 square meters or more.

Thanks to its adjustable spreading mechanism, the spreader ensures precise and even distribution of fertilizer, so that every square meter of your garden receives the right amount of nutrients.

  • Large capacity: The spacious 23-liter reservoir accommodates a large amount of fertilizer or seeds, reducing your need to refill often and allowing you to work more efficiently.
  • Durable and weather-resistant: Made of high-quality materials that can take a beating. Finished with a rustproof powder-coated finish.
  • Adjustable: Easily adjust the application rate with the convenient lever, so you always apply the right amount of fertilizer depending on the need. The spreading width depends on the walking speed, grain size and the amount left in the reservoir. At a normal walking speed, the spreading width is 3 to 3.5 meters.
  • Ergonomic design: The comfortable handle and smooth wheels make using the spreader easy and less stressful for the body.

Advantages:

  • Large wheels (diameter 32 cm) with inflatable tires for smooth ride and comfort
  • The legs allow the spreader to stand upright independently
  • By using the screen when filling, you avoid clumps that block the mechanism during spreading

Assembly:

Equipment needed: open-end spanners, Phillips screwdriver

  1. Turn the reservoir over and secure the frame with 4 screws.
  2. Slide the propeller onto the shaft of the drive mechanism. Attach the appropriate screw through the propeller and the top of the drive mechanism shaft.
  3. Put the right screw through the provided hole of the right wheel frame and attach it to the frame. Secure with a locknut. Do the same for the left side.
  4. Attach the cross brace between the wheel frame using the frame brace. Make sure you attach the frame brace in the right direction! Also make sure you mount the cross brace correctly. The hole in this bar should be on the left when you put the spreader upright.
  5. Prepare the axles so that the wheels can be mounted on them. Start with the side where the hole is in the cross brace. Push the axle bushings together. Attach the wheel to it and secure using a screw through the hole in the cross brace. Secure with a locknut. Attach the endcaps to the wheel. Do the same with the other wheel.
  6. Attach the stem for the handle into the provided hole in the wheel frame. Fasten with the bolts provided. Attach the Pivot and Bracket Assembly to the protruding screw ends. These should be on the right side when standing behind the spreader.
  7. Then attach the Gauge and Lever Assembly to the handles and handle stem in the holes provided using the screws provided. The Gauge and Lever Assembly should come on the left side.
  8. Put the adjustable lever in the lowest position. Fix the control rod in the hole near the adjustable lever. Remove the screw at the other end of the control rod and attach the stand to the Pivot and Bracket Assembly. Reinstall the screw. Turn the threaded end of the adjustable connecting rod into the locking plate and secure using screws.
  9. Insert the locking pin into the hole at the top of the shaft at the bottom of the reservoir.

For detailed assembly instructions: see enclosed manual!

Check:

Check that the front of the drive mechanism points forward. The propeller should turn clockwise when you walk forward. If you walk backwards, the propeller will turn counterclockwise.

Operation:

  1. Determine the size of the area to be treated and measure how many grains/seeds you need.
  2. Before filling the reservoir, check that the sealing plate is closed.
  3. Break up any clumpy fertilizer as you fill the reservoir.
  4. Make sure the drive pin is in the shaft before starting the spreader.
  5. Start stepping before opening the locking plate.
  6. Always close the locking plate before turning or stopping the spreader.
  7. If too much fertilizer is accidentally spread on a small area, wet the area thoroughly with a garden hose to avoid burning the lawn.
  8. To ensure even coverage, perform each spreading so that the pattern of spreading slightly overlaps the pattern of the previous spreading.
  9. When spreading herbicides, be sure to stay far enough away from evergreen trees, flowers or shrubs.
  10. In heavy humidity, pull the rain cover over the reservoir to keep the contents dry to prevent clumping.

Maintenance:

It is important to clean the spreader thoroughly after use. This avoids contamination during subsequent use. You can easily hose off the fertilizer spreader with a garden hose and then let it dry.

How do you determine the correct flow?

The packaging of the material describes how many grams/kilogram are needed for a given area. To determine the correct flow setting, you can first perform a test on a hard surface. This way you can sweep up the material after the test and reuse it.

  1. Delineate an area of 2 square meters.
  2. Fill the spreader with the recommended amount for 2 square meters.
  3. Walk at a consistent speed (± 7 km/h).
  4. Is all the material spread out and the entire 2 square meters covered? Then you can use this flow setting to finish the job.
  5. Do you still have grains/seed left or are you short? Then do the test again after you adjusted the flow setting.
