That's how to choose the perfect spot for the birdhouse!
- Hang the nest high up on the branches of trees so the house and neighborhood cats can't reach it! Ideally, near shrubs or trees with prickly leaves or thorns.
- Clean the nesting box in September/October so that pests don't get on it, or the birds get sick.
- Find a quiet spot, preferably not facing south. Otherwise, the nesting box will hang in full sun.
- Make sure the entrance is draft-free (northeast facing).
- Give the birdhouse a spot as early as the fall so they can get used to it & use the nest as a roost/shelter.
