Rootsum - dispenser containing 500 predatory mites to control thrips
Product information "Rootsum - dispenser containing 500 predatory mites to control thrips"
If you frequently buy new houseplants or grow your own vegetables, sooner or later you may have to deal with thrips. Fortunately, you can solve this problem with Neoseiulus cucumeris, a type of predatory mite that feeds on thrips eggs and larvae. Neoseiulus cucumeris are beige predatory mites that measure about 0.5–1 mm in size when fully grown. They come in a shaker tube containing flour mites and bran.
These predatory mites are ideal for houseplants such as Monstera, Tradescantia, Calatheas, Anthuriums, Ficus, roses, and gerberas. For vegetables such as cucumbers, bell peppers, melons, and eggplants, as well as grapes and strawberries, it is best to use them in combination with Orius.
Neoseiulus cucumeris work best at a daytime temperature of at least 20°C and a humidity level of at least 65% for several hours a day. To use the predatory mites, first allow the dispenser to reach room temperature, then sprinkle them evenly over the affected plants. The number of predatory mites you need depends on the severity of the infestation and varies between 200 and 1,000 predatory mites per m². In the case of a severe infestation, you can repeat the treatment after 3 weeks or switch to grow bags designed to combat thrips.
