Rubus idaeus 'Tulameen' - pot - bush
Zomerframboos
Product information "Rubus idaeus 'Tulameen' - pot - bush"
Summer raspberries are very low-calorie, delicious fruits.
GROWING TIPS:
The summer raspberry is monoecious, pollination is by insects. The plant prefers a spot in the sun or semi-shade with a moist, well-drained, slightly acidic soil. Harvesting can be done in June and July.
Because the branches of the raspberry are very pliable, they are best grown along wires, as an espalier.
The fruits of the summer raspberry are on the woody, annual twigs, after fruiting the stems die.
Maintenance pruning is done in mid-July to mid-August:
- Per running meter, we tie back 6 to 8 nicely formed, healthy stems, cutting them 10 to 15 cm from the top wire.
- The surplus branches and stems are pruned away-
any side branches are pruned down to 1 to 2 budsFor
a large number of ground shoots, thinning out pruning in the spring is necessary. Here we remove the ground shoots until April. In early June we thin out until we have 12 shoots per running meter.
ADVICE IN CASE OF PROBLEMS:
The use of a bird net is recommended, otherwise much fruit damage may occur.
In general, raspberries are not very susceptible to diseases and pests.
