Product information "Lavandula angustifolia 'Munstead' - pot 9x9 cm (Lavender)"

Lavender Munstead grows slightly taller than the Hidcote variety.

CULTIVATION TIPS:
Lavender prefers a sunny, dry spot in limy, well-drained soil. Lavender is perennial and hardy.
If we want to keep our lavender beautiful for many years, it is necessary to prune it twice a year. After flowering, we cut away all spent stems. In early spring we cut back the plant strongly, to about 10 cm above the ground.

Lavender and parsley are not good neighbors, it is best not to plant them too close together.

Lavender Munstead blooms lavender blue from June to August.

USES:
We can use small amounts of lavender flowers in cooking. The bittersweet flavor can be added to jams, sugar, stews, lamb and ice cream.

Lavender works well against stress. An infusion (20 g of flowers 10 minutes in half a liter of boiled water) with the flowers can help with headaches, nervousness, cramps and nausea.Lavender also has a positive effect on the immune system, it calms respiratory problems and mucosal inflammation.taking a lavender bath has a very soothing effect, for which we infuse 200 grams of lavender flowers on 3 l of boiled water for half an hour. We strain the mixture and add it to the bath water. Floral water from lavender flowers is good for our face, it stimulates cell renewal and helps against acne.

Lavender has an insect repellent fragrance, against mosquitoes, mites, moths and fleas. We can dry the flowers and use them in potpourris or sachets for the linen closet against moths
