Bintje (cross: Munstersen x French) is a semi-early potato variety that can be harvested between 110 and 130 days. The recommended minimum planting distance is 30-35 cm in the rows and 55-60 cm between the rows (a greater distance may provide additional protection against disease). This seed potato has limited resistance to potato blight (Phytophthora), good yield and long shelf life. The harvested tubers of this mealy kitchen potato are yellow with a yellow skin and are of good quality for kitchen use (cooking, frying, soup, baking). These vegetable potatoes come in a bag.
Tip: In any fertilizer, potassium is most important and provides plant strength and increases resistance to diseases, pests and drought. Phosphorus, which provides for the development of the plant's roots, is best added in moderation, and nitrogen is best avoided to prevent the plant from sagging. Algae, lime and compost are also always a source of additional minerals beneficial to your potatoes.
