Buckwheat
Buckwheat blooms with bright white flowers that attract many bees and butterflies. Buckwheat is an excellent, fast-growing green manure crop because it fixes nitrogen in the soil. After a crop is harvested, buckwheat is therefore sown to keep the soil covered. At the end of the season, buckwheat is tilled into the soil, adding organic matter. Neither the plants nor the seeds are winter-hardy.
Sowing instructions: sow in the spring and harvest in the summer. Growth period is 30 to 60 days
