Barenbrug Water Saver grass seed is a unique grass mixture for establishing an ecological lawn.
This grass seed results in a deep-rooting lawn that can withstand prolonged drought very well. So you can save a lot of money on watering!
This grass seed is slower to emerge than the standard grass mixture. It germinates at a soil temperature as low as 15°C. We recommend sowing from April to early October, but of course this depends on weather conditions.
This grass seed is used, among other things, for laying lawns on dry sandy soil because it roots up to 60cm deep (instead of 10-15cm with standard mixtures). While other lawns fail and dry out due to heat and drought, your Water Saver lawn will stay green. This is because this grass mixture contains grass varieties that excel against drought and heat!
In addition, field bean grass is not only highly resistant to drought and heat, but can also tolerate the winter months well. As a result, with Water Saver, you will have a beautiful lawn all year round! Deep rooting, the way to success: thanks to deep rooting reed swamp grasses, Water Saver grass draws water from deeper layers of the soil.
How to use
- Level the surface, remove stones & weeds and fertilize the soil;
- Sow in two crossed directions;
- Gently rake the soil to bury the seeds;
- Roll surface for good contact between soil and seeds;
- Irrigate regularly to prevent desiccation;
- Mow, fertilize and water regularly. Grass seed germinates after 2 to 4 weeks.
