Composition:
Famiflora grass seed for play lawn and sports lawn consists of 50% English Ryegrass or Lolium Perenne. This ensures rapid emergence between 7 and 14 days, depending on weather conditions (20°C = ideal for rapid emergence).

In addition, it also contains 50% Red Fescue or Festuca Rubra. This grass type does not emerge as quickly, but provides a stronger lawn. This grass type is stronger than English Raaigras and provides more ornamental value. In short, the ideal basis for a strong lawn in the long run!

The grass seeds we select are based on the latest varieties. In other words, these grass seeds were selected for better disease resistance and are the same as you find in AA brands.

The best basis

When can I sow?
Typically, sowing can be done from April to May and from early September to late October. But everything depends on weather conditions. For example, you need a minimum soil temperature of 10°C for your grass seeds to germinate properly (with the exception of SOS grass seed, which germinates as early as 4°C). We also recommend not seeding during dry periods or at temperatures higher than 25°C.

How should I seed my lawn?

1. Mow the lawn.
2. Remove all moss, weeds and other impurities from the areas to be treated.
3. Loosen the surface and, where necessary, touch up uneven areas with soil.
4. Sow evenly across both the width and length of the lawn.
5. Rake in the seed very lightly.
6. Press down with the roller.
7. Then spray with plenty of water and keep the soil well moist until the grass emerges.

Weeds in the lawn?
These seeds are NAC-certified and each batch is checked for weed seeds. Therefore, buy only NAC-certified seeds. Moreover, this is an obligation in Europe and can be recognized by the green sticker, including the batch number, which must be present on each bag or box.

Weed seeds are always present in the soil. With every tillage, they are brought to the surface and often begin to grow faster and more vigorously than the grass seed. However, weed seeds are usually annual, and although they have a faster start due to their incredible vigor, if maintained correctly, they are supplanted by the longer-term stronger grass seeds.

Important here is to:

• mow the lawn regularly. This will weaken the weeds and prevent the annuals from self-seeding.
• fertilize the lawn on a regular basis with quality lawn fertilizer.
• using a planting app to check which weeds are most common in your lawn, and whether they are annuals (they usually are). If they are perennial weeds (they were also usually present on the property before seeding), you will need to remove them manually (with a weed trimmer) or hire a garden contractor.
