The nocturnal barn owl likes to nest in barns, church towers and rafters. Because of renovations to these buildings, suitable sites are becoming increasingly scarce and it is more difficult for barn owls to find nest sites. At night, the barn owl hunts for small rodents. While hunting, it usually flies low over the ground. This barn owl box, tailored to the owl's needs (a dark nesting area), is a suitable nesting place for these elegant beasts. The partition on the inside provides additional darkness. It also helps keep martens and other predators out of the nest. The barn owl box is suitable for mounting on barns, stables and church steeples. The nest box is also suitable for installation in attics. The owl should then be able to reach the nest box directly through a hole in the wall. The flight hole must be clearly visible to the owls from outside and they must be able to approach and fly away easily. As far as possible, place the barn owl box facing north or east and 6 to 8m above the ground. Note: After successful breeding, the nest box should not be cleaned.
