Product information "Buzzy Seeds Green Manure - Winter Rye - 1 kg"
- Contents: 1 kg (1.5 kg is needed per 100 m²)
Rye can be grown as a green manure crop, forage crop, and/or for ground cover . Winter rye can be sown late and is not sensitive to frost. The crop is very suitable as a green manure following crops that are harvested late. It provides fairly rapid and effective ground cover and penetrates the topsoil very well.
Rye is primarily grown on sandy to loamy soils and valley soils (both as a grain crop and as a green manure), but it also performs well on sandy loam to clay soils. Wet to waterlogged and mud-prone plots are less suitable for rye cultivation. Winter rye is also used to stabilize the soil on wind-prone lands, including in the Veenkoloniën.
1.5 kg is required per 100 m².
