Autumn flower bulbs

Don't be confused, these bulbs are indeed planted in autumn. As a result, they come into full bloom during spring. They are also called spring-flowering bulbs for this reason. During the winter months, they prepare themselves by storing nutrients in the bulb's fleshy scales. This allows them to flourish spectacularly in spring. By definition, they are hardy, and can survive for several years if cared for properly. It is best to plant these bulbs before frost sets in.
