Building the Gardena Micro-Drip-System

The basis of the Gardena Micro-Drip-System is always a 'main unit'. This unit lowers the water pressure to around 1.5 bar. It supplies water so you can use all sprinklers, tubes and drip heads to their full potential.

  • Drip tube with integrated drip heads: for vegetable beds, shrubs and hedges or small plants such as tomatoes

Various installation options of the Gardena Micro-Drip-System

  • A first installation option is to mount the Gardena Main Unit directly on the tap. This is also the simplest method. You control the water flow manually by opening and closing the tap.
  • Using the Gardena Water Control irrigation computer, you automate the watering schedule. On the computer, you set the days, cycle duration and exact times.
  • By expanding the irrigation computer with a soil moisture sensor, you can really rest on your laurels. This sensor is connected directly to the computer and indicates whether to skik the automatic cycle or not.
  • Do you also want to be able to control your watering schedule on the move? This is possible with the Smart Water Control and Smart Sensor. You can then control the schedule via an app on your smartphone. If necessary, the system automatically adjusts the schedule based on the weather forecast and the data form the soil moisture sensor.

Gardena Micro-Drip-System vs Gardena Pipeline

We can't discuss the Gardena Micro-Drip-System irrigation system without also mentioning the Gardena Pipeline System. This is because these two systems can easily be connected. Whereas the Micro-Drip-System is completely above-ground, the Gardena Pipeline system is completely underground. This is the biggest visible difference, but certainly not the only one.

The Gardena Pipeline system is best described as a permanent underground watering system that transports water to wherever you want it. It allows you to install a water source wherever it is needed. To build this entire system, Pipeline uses the same pipes and connectors as the Micro-Drip-System. Thanks to the Quick&Easy connectors, the system can be built out in no time.

The basis of the Pipeline system is the Connection Set. You connect it to the water tap and from there the water is distributed - underground - through the supply pipes. At the places where you want a water point, you install a water station or water plug. You can install a garden hose, oscillating sprinkler, garden tap, etc. from there. Installations specific to the Micro-Drip-System such as endline dripheads or drip tubes can also be connected to the Pipeline System. The Gardena Pipeline System is completely frost-proof as water left in the pipes can be easily drained with a Drain Valve Set.
