Pole beans Abundance is a very well known and loved, single pole bean variety that lives up to its name. The remarkably long, thin pods grow in large clusters and are very tasty. This variety can be stored in the freezer, even with retention of quality. Sow: Pole beans are grown against climbing poles that are usually placed crosswise in rows, preferably in a north-south direction. Place the canes in rows 120 cm apart, keeping 40 cm between the canes in the row. Place 4 beans around each stick, about 3 cm deep. Do this in the open ground between mid May and mid July. In any case, wait for good weather. Beans need sufficient warmth and moderately moist soil. In wet and cold weather the beans germinate poorly. Therefore, you should not sow earlier than indicated here, or you should pre-sow in a greenhouse in a container and then transplant later. Above all, do not use fresh farmyard manure. Harvest: Depending on the sowing time, you can harvest from July to September. Suitable for freezing.
