Product information "Marjoram - Origanum majorana - pot ø13 cm"

Real marjoram is more refined and sweeter in flavor than the wild variety.

PLANTING TIPS:
Marjoram is in our climate an annual plant, which we should give a place in the sun. The plant thrives in principle on all types of soil, as long as they are not too wet. We can harvest twigs from the plant throughout the summer. If we harvest them to dry, we do this best just before or during flowering.

The delicious aroma of the plant attracts bees and insects to our garden.

USES:
Marjoram combines well with thyme and basil in the kitchen. This mixture can be used to flavor tomato and mushroom dishes, pasta sauces, pizzas and risottos. Marjoram is also used in soups, with potatoes, casseroles and meat dishes. Adding marjoram makes fatty dishes more easily digestible.

Tea relieves stress, tension and insomnia. The herb is appetizing and helps with gastrointestinal cramps. Furthermore, it provides relief from menstrual cramps. Externally, wraps of marjoram can be used for muscle pain and muscle tension.

Dried, the herb retains its aroma for a very long time, making it ideal for scent boxes and dried bouquets.
