Biogrowi blood mite trap / blood lice trap - Insect control - Pheromone against blood lice
Product information "Biogrowi blood mite trap / blood lice trap - Insect control - Pheromone against blood lice"
The blood lice trap consists of several layers of cardboard in which blood lice like to hide. Inside is the pheromone, a lure that attracts both male and female blood mites, even if they have already sucked blood.
Attach the trap to the wall of the chicken coop, and leave it hanging for a maximum of 25 days. Write the date of hanging out on the trap to know when to remove it. Depending on the size of the coop, one trap per season is usually sufficient. You can combine the pheromone trap with other biological or chemical means against blood lice. Store the traps in a cool place, but not in the freezer to keep the cardboard intact.
To detect blood lice early, you can hang and monitor the trap preventively from February-March. In addition, you can certainly use the trap even if the damage is already done. You do this by emptying the pheromone trap as much as possible and knocking it out over a bucket filled with water. Many blood mites will then drop into the bucket and drown. You do this every 5 days or even sooner if a large population of blood lice is present.
