Product information "Biogrow Pheromone against Indian flour moth (Plodia interpunctella) - Insect Control"

  • Bio solution against Indian flour moths
  • Action radius of 50 m
  • Effective period of 6 weeks

The Indian flour moth is a moth that is distributed throughout the world and is about 1 cm in size. Unlike the Gray flour moth, this moth not only affects flour but also many other foods. For this reason, it is called the stock moth because it can infest all kinds of grains and cereal products, dried fruits, chocolate and cookies. The infestation occurs by buying contaminated food, after which the larvae eat their way through new packaging made of cardboard and plastic to infest new foods.

If you suffer from Indian flour moths in your kitchen cabinets, it is advisable to use glue boards or a funnel trap in combination with this pheromone. You can order these pheromone capsules to attract and trap the moths. To catch the moths, you will need a matching trap. If you have a lot of meal moths, you can use a funnel trap. Place the pheromone on the glue plate and the moths will be attracted and stick to the glue.

The pheromone capsules are packaged individually and last for six weeks. The pheromone captures away male moths to break the cycle of the Indian flour moth. The pheromone has a range of 50 meters and the trap should be left in place for at least six weeks or until the entire infestation is cleared. Since the larvae can hide in small cracks, it is recommended to leave the pheromone trap in place for at least a month after the last moth sighting. Also check at night because moths primarily fly at night.

In addition to using pheromones, you can take some additional measures, such as removing all infested food from the closet, checking closed packages for larvae infestation holes, disinfecting the closet with vinegar or lavender-based essential oils and storing new food in sealed plastic storage boxes.
