Product information "Grow bags - natural control against thrips - 100 pieces"
Have you suffered from thrips on your plants in the past? Prevention is better than cure! You can start working preventively with these grow bags. These thrips sachets contain Neoseiulus cucumeris predatory mites. They also contain flour mites and bran and act as carriers. The predatory mites feed on the eggs and young larvae of thrips. Adult thrips are not eaten. After 5 to 6 weeks, new predatory mites will hatch, immediately counteracting the first thrips infestation.
You can use the breeding sachets on indoor plants, to prevent damage to the leaves. Monstera species, Tradescancia species, Calatheas, Anthuriums, Ficus, roses and gerberas are especially susceptible to thrips. If you buy new houseplants, insulate them and treat them with grow bags against thrips.
Grow bags can also be used preventively on vegetables such as cucumber, bell bell pepper, melon or eggplant, grapes and strawberries. They work best at temperatures higher than 20°C during the day and at least 6°C at night.
The grow bags are easy and quick to hang up with the included hook and provide 5 weeks of protection. They are also inexpensive to purchase. Hang at least 1 grow bag on each plant and for large houseplants 2 to 3 grow bags. If the plants grow into each other, use 1 grow bag per m2.
Remember that the predatory mites leave the grow bags through pre-punctured openings and you should not enlarge them. Also, do not moisten the grow bags unnecessarily. After 5 to 6 weeks, the grow bags should be replaced to maintain thrips protection. By systematically using grow bags against thrips, the thrips will not have a chance to develop.
