Elephant garlic 1 piece for planting
Product information "Elephant garlic 1 piece for planting"
- good yield
- long shelf life
- early maturity
- ideal for cooking
Elephant garlic is planted in April and can be harvested in July-August. The recommended minimum planting distance (per clove) is 15 cm in the rows and 15 cm between rows. This white garlic has excellent cooking quality, moderate earliness, nice yield and long storage life. This planting garlic comes in a bag.
Tip: Garlic prefers to grow in the sun, in a warm place. Garlic also grows in almost any soil with good structure, but preferably in a soil of fertile, loose, humus-rich soil that retains moisture, yet sufficiently permeable (avoid clay).
If the soil is well maintained, fertilizing is not really necessary. If you do fertilize, do not use a nitrogen-rich fertilizer (such as stable manure) to reduce the risk of diseases such as head rot or mold. Rather use a potassium-rich fertilizer.
Storage in the form of a braid is possible. Here we braid the leaves of the garlic together with a cord. We then hang the braid in a well-ventilated, dry room.
Covering garlic left in the garden against too severe frost with a fleece is also always conducive to a good harvest the following year.
