What is the capacity of this sand filter pump?
Please note that this pump has a capacity (pump flow rate) of 3,028 L/h. Once you connect it to the pool & the pump starts cleaning the water, you will lose power & it has a system flow rate of 2,271 L/h. So the actual efficiency to filter the water is lower than the capacity of the sand filter pump. Keep this in mind when choosing an appropriate filter pump for the capacity of your pool. And be sure to compare the values of the pump flow rate & the system flow rate.

How should you maintain the sand filter pump?
The advantage of this Krystal Clear sand filter pump is that it requires virtually no maintenance. The sand only needs to be replaced after 3 years. This is in contrast to a cartridge filter pump where it is recommended to replace the cartridge fortnightly.

Besides sand, you can also use other filter media to filter the water clean:
- Filter balls
- Filter glass

What is the difference between a cartridge filter pump & a sand filter pump?
A cartridge filter pump primarily holds back coarse dirt, while a sand filter pump purifies much more precisely. Sand filter pumps are therefore ideal for a (medium) sized pool! As mentioned above, a sand filter pump also requires much less maintenance!
