Product information "Winter savory - pot 9x9 cm (Satureja montana)"
Winter savory gets its tastiest aroma in a sunny spot
GROWING TIPS:
A sunny spot in chalky soil is ideal for savory, but savory grows easily anywhere. A plant pruned regularly will remain compact and have the most aromatic leaves
The proximity of savory encourages the growth of legumes in the garden, and its flowers are very popular with bees
USES:
This herb should always be used in moderation, it has a spicy flavor whose aroma is reminiscent of a mixture of thyme and mint. Add it to turnips, beets, cabbages and sprouts during cooking, it takes away the strong and sometimes unpleasant smell.use it also in all kinds of meat and fish dishes, potato and pea soup, raw vegetable salads and of course in bean and legume dishes. Also extremely suitable for boosting low-salt diets.
This herb has a positive influence on the stomach and intestines, which saves you from bloating and flatulence after eating legumes. Anyone suffering from stomach ache or chronic diarrhea would do well to drink an infusion of savory after each meal. To do this, steep 12.5 grams of savory in 25 cl of boiled water for 5 to 10 minutes.
From the leaves you can make an antiseptic gargle drink against sore throat.
WARNING: Do not use savory during pregnancy.
Wounds can be taken care of by using a bonewort poultice. You make this by boiling 25 grams of the herb in some water. Then strain the water and soak a cloth with this juice. Place the cloth on the wound and refresh it regularly.
