St. John's wort has a positive effect on body and mind. First of all, this herb can make wounds heal faster and prevents inflammation because it stimulates the blood circulation. Also those who are depressed, have anxiety or suffer from insomnia or restlessness can appeal to this herb. Make a decoction of 30 grams of fresh topsoil parts to 1 liter of boiled water and let steep for 5 minutes. Strain and drink three cups a day. This infusion also relieves menstrual cramps.
Note: St. John's wort is best not used just before or during sunbathing as it promotes bandages. Also, do not use together with medications.
Wounds, cracks, rashes, burns and other skin problems can be treated with St. John's wort oil. You can easily make it yourself by soaking 50 grams of fresh flowers in 250 ml of vegetable oil (e.g. olive oil, sesame oil or sunflower oil) in a closed jar in a warm place for 6 weeks. Strain and rub the problem skin with it. This oil is also helpful for nerve inflammation, rheumatic pains or muscle aches.
