Product information "Cape garlic, wild garlic, marsh garlic - 9x9 cm pot (Tulbaghia violacea)"

Cape garlic is a beautiful plant with a mild garlic aroma.

CULTIVATION TIPS:
Cape garlic requires a place in the sun, if you plant it in the semi-shade it will usually not flower. The plant prefers a well-drained soil. You can plant the plant in a tub as well as in full soil. The plant is only hardy to -7°C, so in case of severe frost you should protect it with a thick layer of fallen leaves

Cape garlic is a slow grower, supplemental fertilization and watering is only needed during flowering. The plant blooms for a long time from June until the first frost. Cutting away spent flowers encourages flowering

Planted in the garden, the plant keeps voles and moles at bay.

USES:
In cooking you can use either the leaves or the flowers, both have a mild garlic flavor

Use the flowers as a colorful touch in a summer salad or as a garnish on your plate.

The leaves should preferably be used fresh (the flavor is lost when heated). You can use the leaves, finely chopped, as a garlic substitute in all cold preparations such as salads and cold sauces. A major advantage is that you will not get garlic breath
