Product information "Wild thyme, small thyme - pot 9x9 cm (Thymus serpyllum)"

Wild thyme attracts butterflies and bees.

GROWTH TIPS:
Thyme is perennial and hardy and likes a sunny spot in a dry, sandy, calcareous soil. It is important that the soil is well-drained, especially to promote survival during the winter. Regular good pruning, especially after flowering, ensures that the plant remains compact

USES:
Wild thyme is used less in cooking than the compact and the lemon thyme. Sometimes leaves of the wild thyme are incorporated into salads. We can add a few sprigs of thyme to oil or vinegar to flavor it.

Wild thyme has the strongest medicinal qualities of all thyme species. Thyme has a mucus-thinning effect, as well as being a powerful antiseptic and disinfectant. This makes thyme a good remedy for respiratory infections. Even preventively, we can drink a thyme infusion (add 1 teaspoon of dried thyme to 1 cup of boiling water, then let it steep for 10 minutes). One cup every day will make us fight colds and flu.Thyme stimulates digestion. The herb stimulates the uterus and therefore use should be avoided during pregnancy.

Used externally, a poultice of thyme relieves rheumatic pains.
