Product information "Spearmint, spearmint - 9x9 pot (Mentha spicata)"

Green mint is best planted in a pot or tub to prevent overgrowth.

CULTIVATION TIPS:
Mint is perennial, hardy and grows in both sun and partial shade. The plant prefers moist, but well-drained, humus-rich soil. Mint is a weedy plant. It is therefore advisable to grow it in a pot or tub, which you may then bury in the ground

USES:
Mint can be used in both sweet and savory dishes e.g. sauces, salads, cold soups, fruit salad, jams, vegetables, vinegar, desserts, cold (mojito) and hot drinks. The combination with chocolate in many desserts is very successful. Green mint also goes well with meat and fish, such as with lamb, roast, roast beef or boiled or grilled fish. Mint is not often combined with other herbs because mint has a rather dominant character.

Mint tea is very good for digestion, it dispels indigestion, flatulence and cramps. It also helps with nausea. Note: mint should not be given to children for more than one week continuously and never to babies! Vaporizing with mint is good against nasal congestion.
