The Velda Giant Biofill XL is a large filter with removable cassettes, based on the flow-through principle. The water flows via the first cassette, in which a UV-C Unit and optional aeration (Silenta 300) and heating (Pond Heater 300 Watt) can be fitted, to 3 removable cassettes with Japanese mats and biofilter balls.
The mechanical and biological action of the filter materials, the simultaneous treatment against floating algae and pathogens and finally the ability to heat the water and provide oxygen, makes the Giant Biofill XL a responsible investment for obtaining healthy and crystal clear pond water.
The basis of the Giant Biofill XL is a large and spacious filter unit with a gross volume of approximately 210 liters. To further increase the filter capacity, multiple filters can be linked together with the supplied connectors. In the middle of the bottom of the filter is a drainage facility created. By simply opening the slide, sludge and dirt drained.
Usage:
Simple installation.Connect the filter to a dirty water / pond pump for the circulation of pond water. Use a filter hose to connect the pump outlet to the filter entrance. Give the filter a place next to the pond and lower the pump under the water. Activate the UV-C lamp and the water flow by inserting the plugs into the socket. First read the instructions for use!All cassettes are removable, allowing the filter materials to be rinsed easily. The first cassette is for the built-in UV-C Unit and the included Mineral Filterstart. There is also a provision in the lid for connecting an air pump. The second cassette is filled with bioballs. This filter material provides a good filtration and has an enormous growth capacity of micro-organisms. The third cassette is equipped with a coarse Japanese mat that filters dirt particles from the water and over time will contain billions of micro-organisms. The fourth cassette is filled with a finer Japanese mat that removes even the smallest dust particles from the water.
