All Velda filters are equipped with special built-in UV-C units. These separate units can be used for the Clear Control pressure filters, Cross-Flow Biofill and Giant Biofill XL.
The operation is based on ultraviolet radiation, which attacks the cells of green floating algae and germs. In a short time you get crystal clear pond water and a healthy environment for fish and aquatic plants.
Equipped with special long life UV-C lamps. Separate UV-C units are available in 9, 18, 36 and 55 Watt.
The advantage of the unit is that all floating algae and any germs are killed before the water is passed through the filter materials. The supplied long life UV-C lamps have a lifespan of over 7500 hours. The UV-C Unit 55 Watt can be fitted in the Velda Clear Control 75 and 100 pressure filters.
