Barenbrug Water Saver grass seed is a unique grass mixture for establishing an ecological lawn. 🌿

This grass seed results in a deep-rooting lawn that can withstand prolonged drought very well. This allows you to save on watering!

The grass seed emerges slower than standard grass mixtures and germinates at soil temperatures as low as 15°C. We recommend sowing from April to early October, depending on weather conditions. Do not sow in temperatures above 25°C and full sun to avoid burning. Always check the long-term weather forecast before sowing.

This grass seed is particularly suitable for dry sandy soil and can root up to 60 cm deep (instead of 10-15 cm). While other lawns dry out due to heat and drought, your Water Saver lawn will stay green. The mixture includes varieties that excel in drought and heat resistance, and varieties with restorative ability that quickly turn green again after drought.

Field meadow grass Barimpala is a topper against drought. This field meadowgrass is not only highly resistant to drought and heat, but can also tolerate the winter months well. As a result, your Water Saver lawn will stay beautiful year-round. Deep rooting helps the grass draw water from deeper soil layers.

How to use

• Level the surface, remove stones & weeds and fertilize the soil
• Sow in two crossed directions
• Rake the soil gently to bury the seeds and roll the surface for good contact between the soil and seeds
• Irrigate regularly to prevent desiccation
• Mow at a grass length of 6-8 cm, and up to 4 cm. Germination in 2-4 weeks. Mow regularly and ensure adequate fertilization and watering

• 80% Reed fescue
• 10% Kentucky bluegrass
• 10% ryegrass

Suitable for areas up to 40m²

Sowing density: 2.5-3.5 kg per 100m²

Cutting height: 30-40 mm
