Velda has a revolutionary product that permanently addresses the algae problem. The core of the I-Tronic consists of a mineral copper alloy anode and a stainless steel cathode. The microprocessor-controlled control unit generates electrical pulses, which release positively charged copper ions. These are a natural means of combating string and slime algae.

With the I-Tronic, borrowed from space technology, Velda brings a revolutionary system to the market to remove string and slime algae from the garden pond, safely for fish and plants. The core of the I-Tronic consists of an anode, made of a mineral copper alloy developed by Velda, and a cathode made of stainless steel.

By means of the microprocessor controlled operating display pulses are generated which are led to the core of the I-Tronic. Through these pulses an exchange takes place and positively charged copper ions are released. This is also called mineralization. These ions, or minerals, in a certain concentration form a natural fight against algae.

The concentration of copper ions to remove filamentous algae and stop its growth is between 0.2 and 0.3 ppm. This is an absolutely safe concentration for humans, animals and plants. According to the European Drinking Water Decree, for example, 2 ppm is permitted as a maximum for drinking water. In normal pond water, with a pH value of pH 7 or more, the concentration, even with continuous use of the I-Tronic, will rarely exceed the value of 0.3 ppm. Safe therefore for the flora and fauna in the pond, but sufficient to stop the troublesome growth of algae.

A positive side effect of using the I-Tronic is that the pond water becomes healthy and gives off a neutral fresh scent.


The successor to the I-Tronic is the T-Flow Tronic, which prevents the growth of thread and slime algae, while stimulating the growth of aquatic plants.
