Stone owl box

Little owls hide and sleep during the day, and they become active during dusk and night. They nest in a natural environment in tree cavities and caves. As these nesting sites are becoming increasingly scarce, this little owl box is an excellent nesting alternative for these up to 23-inch birds. The small area at the front of the nest box is used for chicks when feeding. Choose an undisturbed spot on a tree trunk at a height of 3 to 5 feet to mount the little owl box. Place the nest box in a part of the tree where the foliage is not too dense so that the owls can easily reach the nest box. Make sure the flight hole faces south to southeast, otherwise rain may come in. Choose a shady spot for the little owl hive to prevent heat accumulation during the summer time. Install the nest box at a slight angle of about 5° to the back. Little owls like to use other nest boxes at the same time as a pantry or in case of danger.
