Summer carrot Nantes 2 has a nice cylindrical root shape with a blunt tip, sweet in flavor. With a wider planting distance the roots become somewhat thicker. Manure ruins the taste of carrots, so do not fertilize!
Summer carrots can be sown under glass as early as February (harvest in June). In the open ground one can sow from the beginning of March until July. Early sowing gives less problems with the carrot fly. Row distance approx. 25 cm, if necessary thin out at half a cm.
