In the winter, the nest box often proves a good service for the birds to take shelter from the bad weather.
A proper place to hang the hive is a quiet and somewhat sheltered place, so not right in the sun or on the rain side, with a clear approach route for the bird. Fall is the best time to clean the nest box.
