Pole string beans Raadsheer is a high-yielding pole string bean variety that grows well and vigorously. The crop forms long, good-tasting, stringless pods, if harvested on time. Even at a later harvest the pods are still tender. Because of its earliness it is also suitable for cultivation in the hobby greenhouse and can be sown in mid-April. Sowing: Pole beans are grown on climbing poles which are usually placed crosswise in rows, preferably in a north-south direction. Place the canes in rows 150 cm apart, keeping 50 cm between the canes in the row. Place 3 to 4 beans around each stick, about 3 cm deep. Do this in the open ground between mid-May and mid-July. Beans need plenty of heat and moderately moist soil. They germinate poorly in wet and cold weather. Do not use fresh farmyard manure. Harvest: Depending on the sowing time you can harvest from July to August.
