Head lettuce Summer Diamond is suitable for spring and summer cultivation. The plants do not flower quickly. They form sturdy, tender heads. Sow: spring cultivation: March-April; summer cultivation: April to July. Directly in the garden. Sow on moist soil in rows (or rows) with a distance of 30 cm between them. Sow shallowly, the seed should only just be covered. After emergence thin out at 30 cm as a rule (remove the excess plants in between). do this when the plants are 2-4 cm tall. Lettuce germinates best at a fairly low temperature (up to about 18°C). Therefore, sow in a shady seedbed during warm weather. The chance of 'shooting' (forming a flower stalk) increases from 20°C. Keep the soil moist and open during cultivation. Harvest: Depending on the sowing time.
