Product information "Plantain Red Karmen (Red) 250gr"
- Long shelf life
- Moderate earliness
- Ideal for cooking
Plantajune Red Karmen is planted in February-April and can be harvested in July-August. The recommended minimum planting distance is 10 cm in the rows and 20-25 cm between rows. This red plant onion with extra spicy flavor has excellent cooking quality, moderate earliness, decent yield and long storage life. This plant onion comes in a net.
Tip: Onion prefers to grow in the sun, in a warm place. Onions also grow in almost any type of soil with a good structure, but preferably in a soil that is fertile, loose, humus-rich and retains moisture, but sufficiently permeable.
If the soil is well maintained, fertilizing is not really necessary. If you do fertilize, do not use nitrogen-rich fertilizer (such as stable manure) to reduce the risk of diseases such as head rot or mold. Rather use a potassium-rich fertilizer.
When the onion foliage falls down the onions can be lifted. Then let them dry until the foliage is completely dry. You can now remove the foliage and store the onions in containers in a well-ventilated, dry area. Storage in the form of an onion braid is also possible. Here we braid the foliage of the onions together with a cord. We then hang that braid in a well-ventilated, dry room.
The onion fly is about the only possible problem. Nice to know is that if you plant onions and carrots side by side, you will find that you have less trouble with both carrot and onion flies. Also for tuber and beet varieties, lettuce and tomatoes make good neighbors. Peas and beans, on the other hand, are to be avoided as neighbors.
