This nesting box has an adjustable opening (choose between 28 mm and 32 mm) making it a home for many species of garden birds.
Which opening do I choose?
- 28 mm: ideal for small tits, such as the blue tit, flycatcher and black tit.
- 32 mm: ideal for large tits, such as the great tit, nuthatch and crested tit.
This bird nest creates a hiding place in your garden. It provides warmth during the winter months and offers a safe nest for eggs during the spring.
This nest box is made of FSC wood & has a natural look. Plus, the slide-out bottom makes it easy to clean! You can easily attach the bird box to a tree, fence or wall.
This way you choose the perfect spot for the birdhouse!
- Hang the nest high up on the branches of trees so house and neighborhood cats can't reach it! Ideally near shrubs or trees with prickly leaves or thorns.
- Clean the nesting box in September/October so no pests get on it or the birds get sick.
- Find a quiet spot, preferably not facing south. Otherwise, the nesting box will hang in full sun.
- Make sure the entrance is draft-free (northeast facing).
- Give the birdhouse a spot as early as fall so they can get used to it & use the nest as a roost.
