Vinca minor is also called little periwinkle in Dutch. It is a semi-shrub, but is often ranked as a perennial. It is a low-growing and ground-covering plant. Vinca minor remains evergreen, and has small dark green leaves that shine. It bears star-shaped, violet-blue flowers

Vinca minor is very hardy. The minor periwinkle requires a position in full sun, semi shade or even shade. This periwinkle is very flexible when it comes to soil type. It is very resistant to sea winds, and also tolerates air pollution and drought.

Trim the plant after flowering to prevent it from proliferating.
