Compact thyme is a perfectly hardy shrub, as long as it is not too wet.
GROWTH TIPS:
Perennial and hardy, thyme likes a sunny spot in a dry, sandy, calcareous soil. It is important that the soil be well-drained, especially to promote survival during the winter
Thyme also does well when grown in pots. Regular good pruning, especially after flowering, ensures that the plant remains compact
USES:
Together with bay leaf and parsley, thyme forms the "Bouquet garni" of French cuisine and is used in broths, stews, stew, marinades, soups, mussels, mushrooms, eggplants and meat and game dishes. We can add a few sprigs of thyme to oil or vinegar to flavor it.
Thyme has a mucus-thinning effect, and it is also a powerful antiseptic and disinfectant. This makes thyme a good remedy for respiratory infections.
