CULTIVATION TIPS:

USES:
Wormwood is a bitter, sharp-tasting herb. It was used in the now-banned liquor "absinthe.
In cooking, it can replace tarragon provided it is limited to one-third of the prescribed amount of tarragon.
Wormwood is bitter and appetizing. It stimulates digestion and is gas repellent. This herb also has strong antibiotic and antiseptic properties and can be helpful in inflammation of the stomach lining. It is also used to expel worms.
You can make a weak decoction of wormwood by pouring 5 to 10 grams of this herb with 500 ml of boiled water.
In the past wormwood was also used in childbirth because it stimulates the uterus. However, all these beneficial effects turn into a harmful and addictive poison when used in excess. Wormwood contains the substance "thujone". This substance can cause severe hallucinations and lead to permanent damage to the central nervous system. A warning therefore to never experiment with wormwood as a medication yourself!
Externally, we can use an infusion of wormwood to treat bruises and insect bites.
Wormwood can be used in the garden as a spray against all kinds of insects such as lice and beetles. To do this, soak a quantity of bruised wormwood leaves in two times its weight in water for 24 hours.
Hanging wormwood in the henhouse keeps lice at bay.
