Potaubergine
Product information "Mini Eggplant - pressing block 10x10 cm"
Potaubergine is a beautiful, compact plant. It bears clusters of about three mini eggplants. We can perfectly grow these eggplants in a pot, supported by a stick
Fruit size: 60 grams.
PLANTING STAND:
80 cm x 40 cm . Aubergines are supported by a stick or tied up
CULTIVATION TIPS:
Like all fruiting vegetables, eggplant does not tolerate frost. Eggplant is best grown in a greenhouse, outside from the end of May in a sheltered, sunny spot. You can plant eggplants on all types of soil with good drainage. Aubergine likes a lot of fertilizer. Before planting, you can mix organic fertilizers into the soil, some additional fertilizers at planting time. Furthermore, you can regularly dissolve some fertilizer in the water. Adapt the watering to the weather conditions! In humid weather you have to be careful with watering. Do not water the leaves of the plant. TIP : Dig the plant pot or a bottle where you cut off the bottom next to the plant and water the plant here.
Growing eggplants is largely similar to growing tomatoes, but eggplants are even more heat-loving than tomatoes
In the beginning it is best to remove the excess side shoots, but later in the cultivation the side shoots usually do not grow as fast anymore so that removing them is no longer necessary. After 25 to 30 cm the plants split. When the plant is about 1 meter high, it is best to pick the leaves up to the split. If they remain hanging, they will cause a too humid climate close to the ground.
ADVICE FOR PROBLEMS:
Various pests can appear on eggplants, including thrips, white fly and aphids. If you ensure good growth, you can avoid many problems: give enough water and nutrients and ventilate the greenhouse well!
Wilt or verticillium is a disease in which the plant withers away due to a gradual blockage of the vascular bundles
It is very important to remove the plant immediately! Do not bring them to the compost heap, otherwise we will get mold spores in our compost. You should not plant any new eggplants on the affected soil.
Poor fruit setting is usually caused by cold temperatures or high humidity. Vibration can help with fruiting
HARVEST AND STORAGE:
Store eggplants at a temperature of about 12°C for about 10 days in a well-ventilated place. The refrigerator is not the appropriate place to store eggplants.
