Product information "Pickle - pressing block 10x10 cm"

The pickle originated in India and, like the cucumber, belongs to the species Cucumis sativus, but they are entirely different varieties. The pickle is smaller mostly with a less smooth surface and should have no taste of its own; the cucumber taste should be completely absent.

CUSTOMER TIPS:
Pickle, like cucumber for that matter, is very sensitive to cold. Plant the pickle only from 10-15 May in full soil. Also in the hobby greenhouse you have to be careful, when the soil temperature is still too low the plant will get root problems and will eventually die. Look for a sunny, warm spot in the garden for this plant as well.
The gherkin can be grown in 2 different ways: climbing via a wire or a fence or crawling over the soil. Unlike the cucumber, you should not be afraid of the latter method because the gherkin is somewhat stronger against diseases than its big brother.

If you are going to grow in a greenhouse you will almost double your production compared to the outdoor crop, which is not to say that you will have a shortage of gherkins in the outdoor crop! Make sure the gherkin has enough fertilizer available and feel free to make adjustments during cultivation, especially when the plant has quite a bit of fruit wallpaper. Pruning is not necessary, and the more the plant branches, the higher your production. Harvest very regularly so that the plant does not become exhausted

HARVEST AND STORAGE:
The smaller you harvest the fruit, the tastier it will be. Storing the fruit is a little more difficult, but the most suitable temperature is 13-14°. So the refrigerator is out of the question. Nevertheless, even under ideal conditions, it remains difficult to keep pickles for long. So try to harvest as needed. You can also store gherkins.

cULINARY:
The taste of a raw and fresh gherkin is similar to that of a cucumber, but with a less pronounced cucumber flavor.
Light and fresh, ideal for incorporating into a summer salad!

VARIA:
Pickling Pickles: In our recipes, you'll find another "sourer" version of pickling pickles.
