Product information "Pointed cabbage - set of 5 pieces"
Spiked cabbage is actually a small type of white cabbage with a pointed shape. It is juicier, easier to digest and, according to some, also tastier than regular white cabbage.
PLANTING:
Spire cabbage is mainly planted as a summer crop. For autumn cultivation or storage cabbage, white cabbage is usually planted. There are specific varieties for each growing method and planting period. At Allégrow you can be sure that you are planting the right variety at the right time.
GROWING TIPS:
Because pointed cabbage is unlike the common white cabbage weighs less and does not grow as large it is extremely suitable for early and summer cultivation. The growing time of pointed cabbage is considerably shorter than other cabbages and they make fewer demands on the soil than other cabbages, this also means that lighter soils are suitable. A lighter fertilization is sufficient. However, pointed cabbage is not suitable for storing
-Before starting your cultivation, make sure you have a good basic fertilizer and enough lime.
-Plant your cabbage plants in full sun and give them plenty of space: planting distance 50 x 40 cm.
-When planting, press the soil around the cabbage plants well and water abundantly immediately.
-Be sure to harvest the cabbage in time, before it bursts open.
CULINARY:Unlike
most other cabbage varieties, pointed cabbage is a real summer cabbage. Other possible preparations are the same as for white cabbage (e.g. sauerkraut). To clean pointed cabbage, remove the ugly outer leaves, wash the cabbage, and then slice it along the side in thin strips. The finer the cut, the shorter the (possible) cooking time will be.
