This bumblebee nest houses about 80 bumblebees that will visit just about every flower in the garden and greenhouse for 3 months. Optimal pollination ensures more, better and more beautiful fruits.
How to use?
- Keep the nest upright during transport and placement
- After returning home, place the nest in the desired location in the garden (not in the greenhouse!)
- Place the nest out of the sun and rain (e.g. under a roof)
- Place the entrance and exit opening preferably in an easterly direction
- The height of the nest is not important
- Remove the seal from the liquid supply (sugar water)
- This supply is sufficient for the life of the nest
- After placing the nest, leave it unopened for 2 hours to allow the bumblebees to reorient to their new location
- Set the 'slider' to fly in and out to 'activate' the nest
- If you wish to move the nest, you should move the 'slider' to 'fly in only
- Never move the nest during the day but only at night when the nest is at rest
- On relocation, keep the nest closed again for two days for reorientation
